VHS ISSUES

Different countries have different TV broadcasting systems with no compatibility between them. Most areas of the world use mostly PAL or SECAM. Half of Brazil uses NTSC while the other half uses PAL-M. Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay use PAL-N. The rest of the world uses mainly PAL. Only North America, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and parts of South America use NTSC.
This means that with a normal VCR a (VHS) video tape recorded in one country will not be viewed in another country if the two TV systems are different.

For example, a VHS tape from Europe is not compatible with VCR machines available in the USA unless you have a Multi System VCR which is nowadays quite common. We overcome this problem thanks to the help of a VCR Transcoder which is able to convert from / to any existing world TV colour systems. This means that you can request your games in either PAL, NTSC or SECAM VHS compatible systems irrespective of the MASTER tape or DVD format in our collection. At the same time we accept tapes in any format provided image quality is acceptable.

IMPORTANT : When ordering a PAL or SECAM VHS you are given the option to request 2 games to be recorded onto one E240 tape. Due to the diversity of the system and to VHS capacity, NTSC format only allows one game to be recorded onto one individual T120 tape.
Please check your VCR manual and make sure you select the VHS recording system which is suitable to you or simply see table below.

DVD ISSUES

DVD discs are only either PAL or NTSC standard. Unlike VCRs, most DVD players do convert the two video standards. However, always check in the manual of your DVD player for details.

IMPORTANT : Given that PAL (European standard system) is considerably better in quality compared to NTSC (American, Japanese standard system) we will process all DVDs in PAL Multiregion format.
An EXCEPTION is made if a MASTER in our collection is already in NTSC VHS or DVD NTSC format. In fact, unless it is expressly requested, it will NOT be converted to PAL DVD and supplied in NTSC DVD to preserve original quality.

PLEASE NOTE : MOST OF THE EXISTING DVD PLAYERS ON THE MARKET CAN READ BOTH PAL AS WELL AS NTSC. If you live in the USA you should be able to watch any of the games encoded to PAL DVD with your DVD player. However, always check your DVD Player manual for details. In case this shouldn't be so, specifically request them to be in NTSC DVD format in the comment box at check out.
